Sunday Morning

Last Sunday morning, I went for a hike up Curley Peak. (9,660 ft.) A friend of mine from work joined me on this hike. Curley Peak is in the Wet Mountains. We used the East Bear Trailhead on Oak Creek Grade to access the peak. The trail starts off as a single track. It is open to motorcycles, but not ATV’s. The trail does allow ATV’s near the top where it connects with other trails. Fortunately, we didn’t see any type of motorized vehicle. Actually, we didn’t see anybody else. That was surprising because the weather was great. There is not a trail to the top of the peak. We had to bushwhack to the peak. There are actually several peaks in the area. An unnamed peak looks higher. We hiked to them both. Round trip for the hike was about 8 miles. Here are the pictures.

Plenty of snow on the high mountains. Bet they're still skiing on some of them. Having fun you seem to be. Stay at it guys.
