The Rapids Supporters did a road trip to Portland, Oregon this past weekend. I went on the trip. It was a bit of rough start for me. I had a cold that I had not gotten over yet. I was in the process of getting better, and I got better as the trip went along. I figured fruit would be a good way to make myself healthier faster. So I went to the First Annual Portland Fruit Beer Festival at Burnside Brewing Company and had some liquid fruit. I felt really good afterwards.
The people of Portland were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. The Timbers Army, the Portland Timber Supporters Group, welcomed us with open arms. I wasn’t able to buy beer in their bar, they kept buying it for me. Incredible! They had us as guests at their tailgate as well and invited us back to their bar even after the Rapids beat the Timbers with a goal in the 92nd minute.
I can’t say I saw too much of Portland, but what I saw was quite nice. The only pictures I took are from inside the stadium. It is a cool old stadium that has been reconfigured for soccer. Here are the pictures.
