The Horse Thief

I went for a hike on Sunday. I went to Horsethief Falls and Horsethief Park. The trailhead for the hike is the same trailhead that I used for the Pancake Rocks hike I did over a year ago. It is north of Cripple Creek and west of Pikes Peak. The weather was nice, but it was still quite cold in the shade. The waterfall was frozen over, but I could hear the water under the ice. After viewing the falls, I hiked north through Horsethief Park. Here are some pictures.

Beautiful pictures. But think I would prefer to do the hike in the summer.

I like the number four. It has as many letters as its value. Six is okay; it has half the numbers of its value. Do you have any favorite numbers, Chuck?

I am partial to pi which is approximately equal to 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592307816406286208998628034825342117067982148086513282306647093844609550582231725359408128481117450284102701938521105559644622948954930381964428810975665933446128475648233786783165271201909145648566923460348610454326648213393607260249141273724587006606315588174881520920962829254091715364367892590360011330530548820466521384146951941511609...

I do like cherry "pie" But I am rather a little more partial to the mathematical constant "e". You have pi to 40 some places, but you can easily memorize "e" to 15 places, here is how --- Imagine a 20 dollar bill, so memorize “2″ and put down the decimal point.
The picture on the bill is of Andrew Jackson. He was our seventh President, so put a “7″ after the decimal point to get 2.7.

Jackson was elected in 1828, so put down “1828″ next. Since there’s a 2 in front of the decimal place, put “1828″ a second time. We’re now up to 2.718281828.

Now, if you drew a square around "Andy's" face and drew a line between the top right and left bottom opposite corners, the diagonal would create two congruent right triangles with angle measures 45, 90, and 45. So, add on 459045 to get 2.718281828459045. And that’s e to 15 places. pretty sweet for an x math type dude. How is that Donovan - Bet you wish you studied math a little harder now. You could have even been a much better soccer player now.
