The Water Part II

I did a solo hike on Sunday to Comanche Lake in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The trailhead for this hike is near Westcliffe. The hike was about 9 mile round trip. There were not a whole lot of people out. That seems to be typical of my experiences in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is quite nice.

I went to Waterdog Lakes today with Charles and Tina. This is my third time to these lakes; however, it was the first time I made it to the Upper Lake. The snow has made it difficult in previous hikes. There is not a whole lot of snow this year though. Compare the pictures below to a hike I did in late June of last year.

For Memorial Day I went for a hike at Dome Rock State Wildlife Area. I have hiked in this area before, but I took some different trails this time. I hiked to the Four Mile Overlook. It was a great view and a great day. Here are some pictures.

Last weekend was the first of two road trips to Salt Lake for the Rapids this season. I made the trip once again. The result was not good as the Rapids lost 2-0. The trip was still fun despite the result. It looks like the weather is going to be wet this weekend, so here is a where's Mike picture from last weekend's tailgate to keep you entertained for a while.

I went for a walk and saw some dinosaur tracks in the rocks. There was a sign that talked about the dinosaur tracks. It was quite interesting.

I spent this weekend helping a friend move from Florida to Colorado. Driving back we basically did two thousand miles in two days. The trip was all about the drive, but I did take some pictures along the way. Here they are.
